Democratic House Candidate Shoots Wife And Commits Suicide

Dems have been accused of a lot, with their short temper and their crazy ideas. However, one Democratic House candidate in Mississippi recently went way too far. A murder-suicide took place after being served divorce papers.

What happened?

Carl Robinson was seeking election into the Mississippi House of Representatives for the 2019 elections. He decided to give all of that up after finding out that his wife had officially served him with divorce papers.

He went down to the medical clinic where his wife was working as a receptionist. He shot her multiple times, and, then, turned the gun on himself. He died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Kenny Dickerson, the Marshall County Sheriff, said that his body was found lying near his estranged wife at the medical clinic.

Robinson had been seen pacing outside of the clinic before he decided to go in. He brought a .38-caliber Smith & Wesson pistol in with him, which was recovered at the murder-suicide scene. Robinson and his estranged wife, Latoya Thompson, were the only ones impacted by the shooting – no one else was hurt.

While staff at the clinic tried to help Thompson, it was too late. They were able to resuscitate, but her rhythm went out twice. She didn’t make it, even after being taken by helicopter to the hospital. Robinson died on impact from the bullet.

Robinson’s Career

Carl Robinson, prior to the shooting, had been preparing for the Democratic primary, which is set to take place on August 6. He was running for the District 5 seat within the Mississippi House. There are two other people who are running for the same seat. His name will still appear on the ballot as the death happened too close to when the elections will take place.

He had the desire to make improvements to the state. Instead, he let all of that go in a single moment of fury, choosing to end things with his estranged wife as well as taking his own life.

A Moment of Reflection

This is not the first time that a politician has acted rashly. There are a number of things that Robinson could have done differently on Tuesday. Instead of racing into the medical clinic to shoot his estranged wife, he could have scheduled a couple’s therapy appointment. He could have sent her flowers. He could have made an attempt to make it work. Instead, he chose to end her life and his own.

He decided that none of his future plans mattered. He was sad and he let his grief get the best of him. Many Democrats have been acting first and thinking later recently. It seems to be something in the water with the Dems where they think that they can say and do whatever they want in the heat of the moment, which is why they’re making such a name for themselves.

With Robinson, he took the coward’s way out by committing suicide. He didn’t want to live with what he did so he ended his own life mere seconds after ending the life of his estranged wife. Luckily, he chose not to take anyone else’s life that day. However, he wasn’t ready to live with what he had done.

With someone so stricken by grief to do something so impulsive and so life-shattering questions his overall mental health. This is someone who could have easily won the election and become a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives. Had he gone further in his career, who knows, he could have made it into the US House of Representatives.

Dems like him get elected into office every single day. These are the same people who are making laws and passing bills that affect everyone’s lives. It begs the question of whether Congressmen and women of any party should undergo some kind of mental health testing to make sure that they are capable of dealing with the pressure that comes from their personal lives on top of what happens on a political level.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar, for example, could use mental health testing. They’ve gone off on people so often using only words that it makes one pause to question their mental health. If a guy like Carl Robinson, a stand-up citizen, can do this to his estranged wife and himself over divorce papers, it makes you wonder what any other Representative would do when they find themselves with just a bit more pressure than what they can handle.
