Pastor Tears up Cease and Desist Order ‘We’re Going to do it God’s Way!”

When the freedoms of Americans are taken away there will be those that stand up as present-day heroes to keep the Democrats from taking them away. A pastor living in Baltimore has had enough of the liberal control and tore up the cease-and-desist letter that had been given to him. It happened during the service that he took the letter and ripped it up. The church had been threatened with a $5,000 fine for holding services.

The pastor has had enough of being told that his freedoms have been put on hold because people are sick in the community. The governor of Maryland permitted for the churches to open up with 50 percent of normal capacity. The reason he gave was that the number of sick people had declined. The issue is stemming from a bunch of orders and regulations that contradict each other.

Stacey Shiflett, held services with only 100 people in a church building normally seats 600. They complied with the governor’s order but violated the county’s health regulations. So no matter what they do, they are going to violate some kind of rules. The order that he was sent has effectively confused the freedoms that people should have. He stated that “Either we have the liberty to worship or we have permission to worship. It has become abundantly clear that if we settle for permission, we will never have liberty again.”

Churches are having to be careful with how they term their reopening all around the country. It is not a matter of permission but a matter of choice. He went on to state that “With this cease-and-desist letter in my hand, the Bible says to the New Testament church ‘not forsaking the assembling of yourselves together as the manner of some is, but so much more as you see the day approaching,’ and the closer we get to Jesus coming back, the more church we ought to be having, not less church.” His reasoning has validity in that people have the right to worship.

He maintains that it is better to obey God instead of men when freedoms are on the line and they violate God’s word. His translation of that thought leaves much to reasoning. He went on to state that “Now that’s God’s parameters. So I’m tearing up this cease-and-desist order right here, and I’m telling you right now, we’re gonna do it God’s way! God tells us how to worship Him, nobody else gets to do that.” No one is going to argue that point with him. It all comes down to whether or not the government is overriding what God has told His people to do. The pastor stated that many churches were reopening over the next few weeks. So, things are going to get back to normal operation very soon.

The sad thing is that there has been no consistency at all regarding the rollback of the regulations. He stated that “We’re challenging our local officials to render the church essential so we can get our doors back open.” And for all practical purposes he is correct in that pastors are also counselors. They help with the mental state of people that need help. The pastor is getting help from David Gibbs III from the National Center for Life and Liberty. Gibbs stated that “If Walmart’s open, it’s time for the churches to be open.” The pastor mentioned that he will not pay any fines because what the state is doing violates the constitution.

On the local level the mayor of the city is also starting something completely different. The pastor showed that “We got a mayor saying we can only worship in our parking lots, which is ridiculous.” It has gotten so bad that the police have placed themselves outside the church to run people off. The governor grants permission to open, but the mayor threatens fines and jail time. Liberals are drunk with power and people need to stand in their way to give them a reality check about what it means to be an American.
