Poor 2020 Democrats Can’t Get Any Love Due to Media’s ‘Squad’ Obsession

Does anyone know if there’s still a presidential election coming up in 2020? You could be forgiven for assuming that the election had been called off during the bizarre week July 14-21, 2019. That week will go down in history as the one where the national media seemed to collectively forget all 23 of the Democrats running for the nomination. Instead, the media was obsessively focused on the Four Dimwits of the Apocalypse, otherwise known as the “Squad.”

You’ve probably seen hours of coverage devoted to Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rashida Tlabi (D-MI) and Ayana Pressley (D-MA). These four wholly unaccomplished freshman Members of Congress have not passed a single piece of legislation authored by any of them during their incredibly brief stint in Congress. Yet somehow, the media has become so obsessed with these unimpressive dolts that it has sucked all the oxygen out of the 2020 Democrat primary.

Can you name one thing the media said about any of the more experienced Democrats running for president during the week? Just one?

There are 23 “major” Democrat candidates still running for the nomination after Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) dropped out. You probably disagree with those 23 individuals politically on most issues, but at least they’ve accomplished a few things in their careers and are now running for president. The “Squad” doesn’t have any accomplishments among them. All they do is yell about how America is a racist country and that President Trump should be impeached. They’ve never actually done anything for the country, but the media can’t get enough of them.

It’s as if the World Series was on TV and every sports journalist in the country has suddenly decided to follow a random squirrel around at a city park.

Businessman and computer programmer John McAfee, the creator of McAfee Antivirus software, is a currently a fugitive from the US government. His Twitter feed is pretty interesting. McAfee is in exile in Cuba with his wife. In one of his most recent tweets, he displayed a picture of himself and his wife, heavily armed on their boat somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico. McAfee tweeted that his feed would “go dark” for a while because the CIA was closing in on him.

McAfee has been accused of murdering a neighbor of his while living in Belize, and authorities in that country arrested him once on suspicion of drug trafficking and other crimes (he’s never been convicted). McAfee now says he’s wanted by the IRS because he hasn’t paid his taxes in America in more than 8 years.

Why are we mentioning McAfee in this article? Because he’s running for the Libertarian nomination for president in 2020 – and because McAfee had more articles printed about him in the week of July 14, 2019, than Bernie Sanders, Pete Buttigieg, Elizabeth Warren, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Julian Castro, Andrew Yang and the rest of the Democrats combined

LOL, as the kids say.

The mainstream media has all but forgotten about the 23 hard-to-identify Democrats who are running for president. On an equally bright side, fundraising has all but dried up for all of these people who want to be Donald Trump’s opponent in 2020. Jeb Bush had to remind a tiny crowd of his own supporters to “Please clap” in 2016. In 2020, the Democrat candidates are having to plead with the media, “Please notice me!”

The “Squad” of Omar, Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib, and Pressley is so unpopular, even among Democrat voters, that most people recoil in horror from their policy proposals and their nightmare vision of a socialist America. Ilhan Omar’s favorability rating is lower than flesh-eating bacteria right now. But President Trump has convinced the media to focus laser-like intensity on those four individuals – which is forcing every 2020 Democrat to now run to the defense of the Squad of Squatters.

This was politically brilliant on Donald Trump’s part. Wall-to-wall election coverage of the 2020 Democrats evaporated overnight – and their campaigns are all going broke as the candidates struggle to get the slightest bit of attention.

Trump has forced every potential opponent of his to rush to the moral aid of four of the most unpopular individuals to ever serve in Congress. The 2020 election could already be over as a result. The media just doesn’t know it yet, because they’re too busy covering for the Squad.
