Senate Acquits Trump of All Charges
(UnitedVoice.com) – After a lengthy and heated two weeks of impeachment proceedings in the Senate, President Trump has been acquitted of all charges. The final votes were 52-48 on the first article and 53-47 on the second, clearing the president of both items. Though it had seemed clear from the onset of the trial, a two-thirds vote to impeach the president was unattainable.

Most Senators stuck to their party’s convictions, but one refused to conform. Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) decided to vote against the president at the last minute, saying that he had grossly violated the public’s trust. How this will impact Romney’s reputation among Republicans going into election season remains to be seen.
Some Democrats, like Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), called out Trump from the sideline before the final vote took place.
Tonight's State of the Union falls on the heels of a gross miscarriage of justice in Trump's impeachment trial. But we cannot stop fighting for our democracy and a more perfect union. #SOTU pic.twitter.com/5zWmjR06fC

Meanwhile, the GOP has counted the days and dollars wasted on this ultimately fruitless process.
Today, the Senate rightfully acquitted President Trump.
The Democrats failed in their effort to erase the will of 63 million American voters & further divided our country.
This impeachment charade lasted 178 days & wasted MILLIONS of taxpayer dollars.
